If you've got a sea of long grass and weeds covering up bricks, or other items, our goats can clear the way so your yard can be cleaned up safely and quickly.
They'll eat away the tall grasses, and the weeds that are choking your yard, leaving a more manageable task.
Want the whole job sorted? Talk to us about completely clearing your backyard. We can take the trash away, mow the grass down and clean up the edges, leaving you with a fresh start.

If you've got really long grass, or established woody weeds, mowers typically can't handle it, or if they can it takes them forever and is a real nightmare to push through. They also disrupt everything and spread the seeds around, so that when you've trimmed it all down, the seeds have plenty of room to resprout.
Goats on the other hand will move through and eat it all, depositing the nutrients back into your soil in the form of manure. They'll also digest the seeds rather than spread them.
Goats can be funny, affectionate animals, and a real joy to watch.
While they're there, we recommend getting a coffee or a beer and watching them work from the back porch.
When the goats are done, don't expect bare soil and a blank slate. What they'll do is bring all the bulk down, uncover all the obstacles and leave a job that's manageable for someone with a whipper snipper and a mower.
If you then have us clear the rest, we'll mow the grass down, tidy up the edges and take away any trash/debris the goats uncovered. This leaves you with a yard that you can walk through again, and you're ready to start gardening.
This is really important! We will need to check your yard for anything toxic to the goats, like certain ornamental plants, particular weeds (not common in residential areas), and other hazards or escape routes.
If you have any plants, or really anything chewable you don't want eaten, make sure to let us know so we can fence it off, because the goats won't ask before they eat!

We don't really have a minimum, it's more about access and safety. The size mainly determines how many goats we can bring, and how long it will take.
If you're hoping for a beautifully manicured lawn the second the goats leave, I'm afraid I have to disappoint you. However, with the goats taking care of the bulk, and a mower taking care of the rest, you'll be in good shape to start taking care of your lawn and getting it in great shape.
Absolutely, no dangerous chemicals, no noisy machinery, and the goats are contained by an electric fence they've been trained in. With pets, we urge you to keep dogs away from the goats. For kids, as long as we are there to help supervise, we are more than happy to have them interact with the goats - Just remember that the electric fence is not as friendly as the goats!
Most of the vegetation will be neatly deposited as nitrogen rich manure ready to fertilise your new lawn. What the goats can't or won't eat, this will need to be cleared and placed in your green bin (or bagged and placed in general waste for problem weeds). If we are doing the mowing and clean up work then we will take care of this for you.
Long grass and thick weeds can easily hide snakes. It's a good idea to make plenty of noise while setting up to alert any snakes to move along, and we always wear snake proof gaiters when working in thick vegetation. The goats are generally good at handling themselves.
If you have a good perimeter fence, this can be very helpful in minimising setup time and keeping the goats contained, but if not, we'll use the same type of fence we use on larger properties to keep them where they're needed.
